Heritage
James Fisher Nuclear was formed in 2005 following the acquisition and merger of Harsh Environment Systems Ltd and Nuclear Decommissioning Ltd, with parts of Rumic and Remote Marine Systems.
The company is built on the strong heritage of design, manufacture, testing and inspection skills and expertise that has been developed in the many organisations that have been combined into today’s James Fisher Nuclear (JFN). This experience is wide ranging within the UK nuclear sector but draws upon many related industries ranging from aerospace to sub-sea engineering and remotely operated vehicles.
The companies acquired and now forming part of today’s JFN are equally diverse and well established including, for example, Remac and MB Faber, the latter originally founded in 1988 as the Faber Design Consultancy.
Today, JFN is a powerful force in the world’s nuclear and other high assurance industries, capable of taking on some of the most complex engineering challenges and able, where necessary, to draw upon the skills, expertise and resources of the wider James Fisher and Sons plc organisation.
