Skills and training
James Fisher Nuclear (JFN) is committed to continued growth and sustainability of the company's skill base.
JFN, therefore, currently run an Apprentice programme and work closely, as members, with The National Skills Academy Nuclear. Our training providers, recognised and approved by NSAN, are Training 2000 and Gen 2 in Cumbria. JFN currently has several young engineering apprentices at different levels of the training programme.

The two second year apprentices are on foundation degrees in their disciplines, and the fourth year apprentice is completing his HND in Mechanical Engineering.

JFN also has two Engineers on Bachelor of Engineering degrees in Electrical Engineering as well as three Engineers completing an HND in Electrical Engineering.
In Leyland JFN has two apprentices in their first year and two in their third.
