James Fisher Nuclear has over twenty years of experience in the design, manufacture and commissioning of multi-axis manipulators and associated tooling for use in challenging conditions worldwide.
JFN is frequently required to develop tailor made, individual solutions to meet specific customer requirements. By working closely with our clients throughout the development process from specification through to testing and production we deliver robust designs that really work in a wide range of arduous environments.

ModuMan Long Reach |
ModuMan Long Reach takes the winning formula to a 4.2m reach and beyondThe ModuMan PRM is a heavy duty, long reach, lightweight, hydraulic power manipulator with proven reliability, dexterity and ergonomics. A modular and scalable design means it can be modified to address a wide range of projects needs making it a highly versatile tool. The manipulator has 7 degrees-of-freedom and the arm fits through penetration sizes from 9” (229mm) in diameter and has a maximum 50Kg payload in all orientations at the standard full reach of 4.2 metres.

Heavy duty master slave manipulator (HDMSM) |
A heavy duty variant of the commonly used VNE80 machine, incorporating a complete replacement shaft/gear driven slave arm and a power assistance system enhancement to the existing master arm. The new system interfaces with the existing through wall tube assembly. Design parameters: Retracted length: 1.4m/Extended length: 3.5m/Translation load: 75Kg/Wrist load 20Kg |
