Project Management

Whatever their size, all JFN projects are run under a consistent project management framework aligned with the APM BoK 5th edition and BS6079. This delivers efficient initiation, execution and close-out of projects whilst enabling controlled identification and management of both risk and change. This structured approach also ensures that the project delivery is to the correct quality standards and attention to health, safety and the environment are built into the project delivery from the outset.

The project life cycle is a gated process which stretches from identification of opportunities, to final close-out and is divided into 2 halves, with the stage prior to contract award being defined as 'Plan' and the post contract stage defined as 'Delivery'.

Risk Management aligned with the APM 5 step process is initiated alongside the planning process to understand and quantify all the risks to programme and cost; and, actively identifying mitigation strategies for the significant risks. Where appropriate, formal risk workshops are held to identify risks and assess their impact. The response hierarchy of Avoid, Reduce, Transfer and Accept is used to plan the risk mitigation strategy.

All Project Managers within JFN are either qualified to, or currently training towards, the Association of Project Management Practitioner (APMP) qualification, an IPMA level D qualification. This approach ensures that both JFN and the customer understand clearly the project scope, deliverables and timescale at the outset and JFN has the skills and tools to ensure that the project remains on track to meet customer expectations.
