Skills and Training

JFN is committed to continued growth and sustainability of the company's skill base. We, therefore, currently run an Apprentice programme and work closely, as members, with The National Skills Academy Nuclear. Our Training providers, recognised and approved by NSAN, are Training 2000 and Gen 2 in Cumbria. JFN currently has nine young engineering apprentices in their second and third years of a four year training programme.

JFN is also currently training five new-starters to become aerospace radiographers to NAS 410 certification and two Senior technicians have recently gained EEMUA 159 tank inspection qualifications. The trainees are due to sit their NAS 410 level 1 exams in August 2011. Ongoing skills improvement has recently led to staff members gaining new NDT qualifications including level 3 Ultrasonics Inspection, MIPS level 2 automated UT and two staff members are currently studying for Foundation Degree in NDT techniques at Northampton University.
